About Fu Wing Fay

Master Fu’s father, Fu Wing-Fay (1913-1993) started to study martial arts at the age of 4. Through his fathers connection, Fu Wing-Fay was able to learn from a number of highly skilled martial artists. These opportunities allowed him to study the essence of other martial arts styles, and later, helped Fu Zhen Song to create and improve Fu Style Wu Dang Chuan and Weaponry.

Starting in the 1920’s, Fu Zhen Song took the essence of different martial art styles and synthesized them in a coherent manner, creating a series of Fu Style martial arts sets with their own characteristics, flavor and specialities. Following in his fathers path, Fu Wing-Fay also devoted his life to martial arts research, systematizing existing sets and creating new sets based on his solid understanding of martial arts theories and principles, combined with his 60 plus years of teaching experience. He greatly improved the Fu Style martial arts system. He produced many students, who now reside in difffernt parts of the world. Starting in the 1950’s, Fu Wing-Fay was Vice-Chairman of the GuangZhou Martial Arts Federation, as well as Chairman of the Wu Dong Chuan Research Society in GuangZhou City. In the 1980’s he was awarded a medal by the Chinese Government as the Most Outstanding Martial Arts Instructor in GuangDong Province. For several years he represented GuangDong province and GuangZhou city as a consultant in the National Martial Arts Competitions. He was also selected as a member of the National Martial Arts Committee of China.
